PALFINGER and Vienna University of Technology Award Eight Elevate Scholarships to Outstanding STEM Students
For the third time PALFINGER awards Elevate Scholarships in recognition of outstanding achievement in support of committed STEM students. With the ceremonial handover to master's students at the Vienna University of Technology (TU Wien), the international technology and mechanical engineering company is emphasizing the high relevance of scientific and technical subjects to innovative industrial companies.
“As one of the world's leading technology companies, we make a point of supporting talented young people. The Elevate Scholarship not only recognizes academic achievement but is also a conscious investment in the future of the fields of study that are important to us as a company. These disciplines reflect the growing importance of digital and technological innovations at PALFINGER. I am delighted to be able to award the scholarship to eight students again this year,” says Philipp Smole, Vice President Digital Transformation Officer at PALFINGER.
The eight scholarships, each worth EUR 2,250, are awarded to students from future-focused technical disciplines such as embedded systems, data science, business informatics, visual computing, software engineering & Internet computing, computer engineering, mechanical engineering and materials science. The criteria for the award are above-average performance and commitment. One female master's student and seven male master's students qualified for this year's PALFINGER Elevate Scholarship.
Technological excellence needs talent
“The industrial sector is a fascinating employer, something that is far too often underestimated. At the same time, industry particularly needs the young generation of academics from a wide range of fields, because their different perspectives and approaches are the basis for true innovation,” says Maria Koller, CHRO at PALFINGER. “This is exactly where we come in: our long-standing partnership with the Vienna University of Technology provides the best foundation for this.”
