From Lengau to the Winners’ Podium: Daniel Schinagl Bags Bronze at EuroSkills
At the EuroSkills 2025 competition in Denmark last week, PALFINGER talent Daniel Schinagl demonstrated his outstanding skills. During three days of intense pressure and in a highly competitive international field, he secured the bronze medal in welding. A remarkable achievement and a strong testament to the high quality of training at PALFINGER.
"When my name was called, it was a real goose-bump moment. I was speechless; it's impossible to describe. Of course, my goal was to win gold for Austria. But third place is also great and I feel honored to be among the best in Europe. My intensive training before the championships paid off. Bronze shines almost as brightly as gold,” says Daniel Schinagl. “I am very proud to have been able to represent PALFINGER and Austria. I would like to thank PALFINGER, my colleagues and my family for their support."
“We are very proud of Daniel and of what he achieved in Denmark. Delivering your best performance under pressure is never easy. He also stands as an example of the many great talents who are building their careers at PALFINGER. 25 young people just started their apprenticeships with us in Lengau at the beginning of September,” says Bernhard Eicher, Director of Education & Training for apprentices EMEA at PALFINGER. “The fact that so many Austrian talents besides Daniel won medals at EuroSkills 2025 shows how excellent the Austrian apprenticeship model is – and how vital and successful the collaboration between the education system and business can be.”
Futureproof Training at PALFINGER
With a strong commitment to quality and a clear focus on the future, PALFINGER has been investing in apprenticeship training for more than five decades. Currently, 134 apprentices are training at the PALFINGER Campus in Lengau in 16 different professions – almost 20 percent of them women. In addition to the traditional apprenticeship, the company offers innovative pathways such as an apprenticeship with school graduation certificate and the Dual Academy.
More than 90 percent of apprentices remain with PALFINGER after completing their training and continue their careers within the company, often progressing to positions of responsibility in middle management, both nationally and internationally. PALFINGER has also established this successful model worldwide: at around 25 global locations, apprentices are trained to ensure a consistently high standard of quality.
