PALFINGER: Apprenticeship Day Packed with Prospects
On November 29, 2024, the PALFINGER Campus in Lengau opened its doors for “Apprenticeship Day” for the fifth time. Around 170 visitors took the opportunity to come and get in-depth information about the wide range of apprenticeships available at PALFINGER. They were able to experience 18 technical and commercial professions up close and try out welding and operating a crane themselves.
“As an industrial and technology company, we create the best qualification opportunities with our training and further education programs,” says Maria Koller, CHRO at PALFINGER, expressing her enthusiasm for Apprenticeship Day. “It is impressive to see the pride and excitement with which our apprentices present their work and PALFINGER as a company to other young people – not just in theory, but with genuine passion and insights into their activities.”
Insights into apprenticeships and 18 job profiles
This year again, the focus was on the interactive presentation of apprenticeships: PALFINGER apprentices demonstrated their skills at 20 specially designed stations and, together with their team of trainers, provided practical insights into their everyday working life. For the visitors, it was an opportunity for “learning by doing”: Whether welding, operating a crane or engineering design - they were able to try things out for themselves at each station.
The greatest attractions were the stations where the visitors could program robots and make Christmas angels on the CNC machining center. An unexpected highlight was the station where you needed to smell and identify various spices - an introduction to the apprenticeship of chef, which is included in PALFINGER's range of training professions.
PALFUTURE - Apprenticeship with prospects
Of course, the stations offered information on the variety of apprenticeships at PALFINGER as well. From doing an apprenticeship in combination with a school diploma, through to the Dual Academy and workshops and seminars - the global market leader offers its apprentices numerous extracurricular activities to promote their professional and personal development. There are also bonuses for outstanding achievements, the opportunity to work at one of the company’s many international locations and to represent PALFINGER at professional competitions. There is no shortage of opportunities for up-and-coming talent. PALFINGER is currently training around 145 apprentices in Austria.
