PALFINGER: Award-Winning Access Platform for Future-Oriented Solutions

20.03.2024

With the minimum emissions P 280 CK eDRIVE access platform, the international technology company is setting new standards in its industry. At the International Awards for Powered Access 2024 (IAPA), PALFINGER's innovative solution received the Product of the Year award in the category Vehicle/Trailer-Mounted.

When the International Powered Access Federation (IPAF), together with its magazine Access International, invites you to the access platform industry conference, a high-level meeting is guaranteed. That's the way it was last week in Copenhagen, when around 420 representatives from the industry got together. One of the absolute highlights of the exclusive meeting for exchanging knowledge is the presentation of the prestigious International Awards for Powered Access (IAPA). The winner in the Vehicle/Trailer-Mounted category was the PALFINGER P 280 CK eDRIVE access platform.

PALFINGER strengthens its focus on access platforms

In addition to its flagship product, the loader crane, PALFINGER is developing the access platform into another strong product line. Parallel to expanding the access platform business, the company is also investing in production and service. In order to meet its growth goals in this market segment, the technology company is substantially expanding its production site in Löbau, Germany, to position the site as its European hub for access platforms. Since 2023, large platforms have been assembled at the production plant, which is located in the Görlitz region of Saxony, in addition to the light and premium class models. PALFINGER also has a strategic focus in the North American region, particularly the USA.

“We see significant growth potential in the area of access platforms. The product is extremely versatile and is used worldwide in various industries such as construction, energy, and logistics. Based on our Vision & Strategy 2030, we are pursuing the goal of creating even more added value with intelligent digital functions to provide our customers with an all-in-one solution. This gives us a clear and sustainable competitive advantage over our competitors,” says Andreas Klauser, CEO of PALFINGER.

Award-winning access platforms with future potential

The construction site of the future requires solutions that are connected, intelligent and flexible. Access platforms are perfect for meeting these requirements. They enable safe and quick operation in narrow streets in the center of cities as well as on uneven terrain. Reaching a working height of 28 meters, the PALFINGER P 280 CK eDRIVE is extremely versatile. Its all-electric drive reduces noise and pollution to a minimum. This makes it much easier to work in urban areas, at night and near hospitals. The existing fleet of access platforms can be converted to minimum emission operation quickly and easily using mobile or retrofittable eDRIVE battery packs. Because they are battery operated, these machines can even work on job sites without a power supply at the same working speed as in diesel mode.

Smart and sustainable solutions for the challenges of the future

With its Vision & Strategy 2030, PALFINGER has set itself the goal of creating integrated complete solutions. Connected and smart – they will tackle tomorrow’s challenges. Electrification plays an important role, as minimum emission operation will soon be the norm. The P 280 CK eDRIVE was one of the first minimum emissions access platforms on the market. “The IAPA award confirms that we have created an outstanding solution that makes the daily work of our customers and partners even more efficient,” says Andreas Klauser.
