PALFINGER: Defense Minister Klaudia Tanner Confirms Cooperation

07.09.2021

During her visit to the Lengau plant, Defense Minister Klaudia Tanner emphasized the importance of the partnership between PALFINGER and the Austrian Armed Forces. Recovery vehicles are currently being fitted out for the force. Further projects are already being discussed.

Endurance, stamina, reliability and versatility - these are qualities promoted by the Austrian Armed Forces. To complete the missions, you need the right equipment. PALFINGER has been supplying equipment to the Austrian Armed Forces in the form of cranes and interchangeable loader systems since the 1970s. In recent years, the Pioneer Corps and the CBRN defense force have been equipped with state-of-the-art PALFINGER cranes to enable them to complete their challenging missions. Especially when deployed to assist in areas struck by natural disasters, PALFINGER systems provide successful and reliable support.

A Success Story

“The Austrian Armed Forces are a valuable partner whose high specifications for equipment and material always help us to explore boundaries and define new solutions,” emphasizes PALFINGER CEO Andreas Klauser during Austrian Defense Minister Klaudia Tanner's visit to the PALFINGER site in Lengau. “Civilian partnerships are of enormous importance to the Armed Forces. This is demonstrated by the excellent cooperation between the Austrian Armed Forces and PALFINGER”, says Defense Minister Klaudia Tanner. “It is important to me that investments in the Armed Forces primarily benefit the Austrian economy and industry.”

The Latest Recovery Vehicles

In 2020, for example, PALFINGER equipped four new Austrian Armed Forces recovery vehicles with PK 41002-EH loader cranes. A further 20 vehicles will be fitted with them by 2023. “I am pleased that we have been able to significantly modernize and strengthen the Austrian Armed Forces’ recovery vehicle fleet with this investment. Investing in our own mobility increases the Armed Forces’ selfsufficiency during challenging missions in the field,” says the Defense Minister.

The Best Solutions for the Armed Forces

PALFINGER and the Austrian Armed Forces are currently in talks to discuss the requirement for additional cranes and interchangeable loader systems. “I am confident that PALFINGER will be able to offer the Austrian Armed Forces the best products and solutions to fulfill its complex tasks,” says Klauser.
