Lifting potentials and synergies
With its Vision & Strategy 2030, PALFINGER defines key company goals. Based on the two pillars of “Go Digital” and “Go for Solutions,” PALFINGER will offer its customers and partners integrated complete solutions and digital services. Through innovations in engineering design and in the materials used, as well as through consistent digitalization and electrification, the full growth potential of the access platforms product line can be optimally used and implemented. In practical terms, this means that areas such as service and sales will remain in Krefeld, prototype construction will be relocated to Köstendorf in Austria, and Löbau will be even better integrated within PALFINGER's global organizational structure. In addition to Löbau, engineering is divided between Duisburg, Köstendorf and Modena.
More efficient processes, higher productivity
“In Löbau, we are centralizing the entire German assembly of access platforms,” explains PALFINGER CEO Andreas Klauser: “From 2023, large platforms will be assembled here in addition to the light and premium classes. This enables us to lift synergies across the entire product range. Löbau will be the European hub for platforms, with an additional assembly site in Cadelbosco, Italy.” In order to ensure more efficient processes and a high level of productivity, PALFINGER is investing in Saxony in a new production hall and offices, a test site, a service location and a 10,000 m² outdoor area for product demonstrations, start-up and acceptance.
Highest employee competence
Klauser emphasizes, that the opportunity of making the assembly expertise built up in Krefeld over the years also available in Löbau, especially for large platforms, is thanks to the employees who will accompany the transfer. “In Löbau, PALFINGER successfully combines the know-how and expertise of two sites. This is the best basis for the success of our new European hub for access platforms in Löbau. I would like to thank all employees who contribute to this,” says Klauser.
