PALFINGER: Fire Brigade Partner Award
Volunteer fire brigades always need crew on standby. PALFINGER gives firefighting employees time off during work hours if there is a call out. The company has now received two awards from the Austrian Federal Fire Brigade Association as Fire Brigade Friendly Employer 2022.
Every two years, the Austrian Federal Fire Brigade Association (ÖBFV) honors Austrian companies that particularly support the voluntary commitment of their employees in the fire brigade. The 2020 award was made up for this year because it was originally cancelled due to the pandemic. PALFINGER is one of the award-winning employers in both years: for Upper Austria in 2020, and for Salzburg in 2022.
Fire Brigade Call Outs Even During Working Hours
PALFINGER has always worked closely with local emergency services such as the volunteer fire brigade. Several hundred employees work as volunteers for the volunteer fire brigade. In order to give the best support for their commitment, PALFINGER releases its employees from working hours if they need to perform fire brigade operations. The same ruling applies to employees who are active in the ambulance service and mountain rescue teams.
“As a global company, we at PALFINGER are proud of our strong regional roots, reflected strongly in the commitment of our employees to the volunteer fire brigade. That is why we are very pleased to receive two awards as a fire brigade friendly employer. We will continue to actively support our numerous firefighting crew members at PALFINGER in the future,” emphasizes Andreas Klauser, CEO of PALFINGER AG.
The award was presented in the Vienna Hofburg on March 22 by Federal Council President Christine Schwarz-Fuchs, Minister of Labor Martin Kocher and Fire Brigade President Albert Kern in the presence of several Regional Fire Brigade Commanders.
