PALFINGER: Lengau Apprentice Wins Gold at AustrianSkills

25.01.2022

18-year-old apprentice Daniel Schinagl takes first place at the AustrianSkills master skills championships, which were held at the Salzburg Exhibition Center from January 20 - 23, 2022. As a result he secures one of the coveted tickets for the 2022 World Championship in Shanghai.

At this year’s AustrianSkills, apprentices from all over Austria once again competed against each other in 32 different disciplines to qualify for the international master skills competitions WorldSkills in Shanghai 2022 and EuroSkills in St. Petersburg in 2023. PALFINGER sent three young and motivated apprentices Hubert Ozimek, Dominik Schober and Daniel Schinagl to the contest. Daniel Schinagl from Lengau took home Gold in the welding category.

Welding Connects People as well as Metals

Daniel Schinagl from Friedburg is currently doing an apprenticeship at PALFINGER with high school diploma in combination with the welding technology module to become a metal technician. The 18-year-old loves the profession he has chosen and is always looking forward to new and exciting challenges as a trainee welder. The two apprentice coaches Josef Kirchtag and Robert Neuhofer are also passionate welding technicians and are delighted at their trainee's victory at the AustrianSkills Championships: “Our goal was to demonstrate the exceptional performance of the apprentices in this competition and we categorically succeeded in doing so!”

Commitment and Passion

“I am very proud of our three apprentices’ performance at this year's AustrianSkills. The entire training team works with a lot of commitment and passion every day and proves that our apprentices definitely have what it takes to become national champions!“ says Bernhard Eicher, Head of European Apprentice Development & Training at PALFINGER.
