PALFINGER Opens Doors: Hands-On Experience on Apprenticeship Day
Welding, programming robots, operating cranes, and all in one day: On November 29, 2025, the PALFINGER Campus in Lengau was once again the meeting place for everyone interested in vocational training with real future opportunities. PALFINGER's Apprenticeship Day took place for the sixth time, offering young people and their parents direct insights into the world of technical and commercial professions, under the tagline: participate, try things out, discover perspectives.
“Our apprentices are the best ambassadors for the training offered at PALFINGER. On Apprenticeship Day, they not only demonstrate their skills and talents, but above all their passion. That way, young people experience first-hand how exciting our working world is, and can try out for themselves the things that inspire them,” says Maria Koller, CHRO at PALFINGER, who is pleased to welcome the many interested visitors.
Numerous checkpoints, one goal: Enthusiasm for apprenticeships
At 19 interactive checkpoints, PALFINGER apprentices and the team of trainers presented the full range of apprenticeships on offer, from metal technician and mechatronics engineer, to vehicle constructor and industrial business management assistant. Highlights included operating cranes, 3D printing, programming robots, and creative tasks on the CNC machining center, which mills and drills complex components with maximum precision.
In addition to the hands-on experience, around 300 visitors received in-depth information on the many training opportunities offered by PALFINGER. These range from “Lehre mit Matura” (an apprenticeship with school-leaving certificate) and the Dual Academy, to participation in apprenticeship competitions and bonuses for special achievements, and extend to international career paths within the globally active technology company. Anyone seeking detailed information about the application process was provided with all the answers on site. In autumn 2026, 25 young people will start their apprenticeship at PALFINGER in Lengau across a wide range of job profiles. On the way there, a two-day internship and an entrance test await all applicants.
Award-winning apprenticeships: PALFINGER is one of the top 3 companies in Upper Austria
In November, PALFINGER was once again awarded the ineo apprenticeship quality seal by the Upper Austrian Chamber of Commerce, making it one of the top three training companies in the category of large enterprises. The quality seal stands for innovation, sustainability, commitment and orientation and is awarded to companies that offer outstanding apprenticeship training.
