PALFINGER: Promoting Children’s Enthusiasm for Learning

30.05.2022

Together with other companies from the region, PALFINGER supports the new Caritas Learning Café in Mattighofen and as a result contributes to equal opportunities in the education of disadvantaged children.

Developing an enthusiasm for learning through games, fun and adventure: All of this has been made possible at the new Caritas Learning Café in Mattighofen since March. On May 25, the official opening ceremony was held for the first free-of-charge learning and care center in the district of Braunau (Upper Austria). PALFINGER was also there as a regional sponsor and was able to get a first impression of the Learning Café.

More than just a place to learn

At the Caritas Learning Café, children are given the opportunity to gain valuable experience and discover new talents independently of regular school and away from difficult family situations. This is made possible by the support of volunteers and Caritas employees with teacher training, who prepare them for later professional challenges through joint learning.

Offering the best conditions

“Knowledge, education, and training are our most important resources in Austria. That is why it is very important to PALFINGER to offer its own employees the best possible training and continuing education. But the issue reaches further and affects society as a whole. All children and teenagers depend on the safety and support provided by their environment. We are proud to accept this responsibility and make a contribution by supporting this successful local initiative. This benefits not only the students but also, in the long term, the economy and companies like PALFINGER, which can rely on a well-trained and motivated workforce," emphasizes Michael Berger, Vice President Global Human Resources at PALFINGER.
