PALFINGER Sets Standards: Another Award for Commitment to Employee Health

Through its PALfit program, the international technology company, places great value on the physical, mental, and social well-being of all employees. Now, the comprehensive health program has just been honored with the “Seal of Approval for Workplace Health Promotion” for all its Austrian sites for the second time in a row. The highest award on this matter is presented by the Austrian Health Insurance Fund (ÖGK) in cooperation with the Federal Ministry of Social Affairs, Health, Care and Consumer Protection.

PALFINGER sees PALfit as an essential addition to legally required measures. Maria Koller, Chief Human Resources Officer at PALFINGER, emphasizes: “We have a very clear goal not only to maintain the health of our team, but to actively promote it — worldwide. The fact that our employees are gladly accepting the wide range of offers shows us that we are setting the right priorities in our fully comprehensive and preventive health management.“

Award confirms the PALFINGER philosophy

For the second time in a row, the Austrian Health Insurance Fund has awarded the diverse PALfit program with its highest award for workplace health promotion. Together with the Austrian Ministry of Social Affairs, Health, Care and Consumer Protection, the seal of approval is exclusively granted to companies that invest in the health of their employees in an outstanding and sustainable way. The PALfit team personally accepted the award on behalf of PALFINGER at the ceremony held in the regional studio of the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation (ORF) in Salzburg.

“Winning this award for the second time confirms that we have created an excellent and effective initiative with our health management,” says a delighted Maria Koller, “The PALfit team improves our colleagues' working conditions every day and thus really deserves the recognition.”

Actively shaping the world of work successfully

The employees themselves are the essential success factor for PALfit: “At PALFINGER, everyone has the opportunity to actively shape the issue of health at work. People who are able to get involved and have an influence are more committed and motivated. We see this with our colleagues every day“, says PALfit team lead Claudia Eigenherr-Tschugmell.

The team's commitment speaks for itself: 900 employees worldwide notched up over a million minutes of movement in just one month during the “PALfit Active Moments” campaign. In addition to global activities, regional campaigns such as “PALfit Bike” are also in high demand and actively used.

PALfit, which started over 20 years ago with physiotherapy and an annual health check with nutritional advice, now offers a comprehensive package of measures for body, mind, and social health. While creating the program, PALFINGER also includes the priorities laid down by OSHA, the European Agency for Safety & Health at Work. This results in, among other things, two global campaigns: With “2 Hands & 10 Friends”, PALFINGER promotes injury prevention at all its sites. Working together with occupational doctors, physiotherapists and health and safety experts, “Power Up” focuses on preventing musculoskeletal disorders. Further education on mindfulness, self-management and stress management also emphasizes mental well-being.
