PALFINGER: Specialized Equipment for Slovenian Civil Protection

PALFINGER, together with its partner and general representative Bijol d.o.o., has successfully completed a major project for Slovenian Civil Protection. The specialized trucks with loader cranes and hookloaders from PALFINGER are designed to protect and rescue the population, particularly during flood events. The project, commissioned by the Slovenian Ministry of Defence, was officially concluded yesterday with a ceremonial handover in Ljubljana.

The protection and rescue of the population during events such as floods, fire or landslides demand everything from emergency responders. In such situations, fast, safe, and efficient operations are 2|2 essential. These are made possible by specialized trucks equipped with reliable, robust, and innovative lifting solutions like those from PALFINGER. As part of a major order, PALFINGER, in cooperation with Bijol d.o.o., delivered loader cranes and hookloaders to the Slovenian Civil Protection. The successful completion of this order was marked by the official handover at the State Logistics Center in Roje (Slovenia), attended by Minister of Defence Borut Sajovic.

On the occasion of this major investment, the Slovenian Minister of Defence Borut Sajovic emphasized the importance of cooperation and solidarity: “This investment in our civil protection shows how important it is that we act united and support each other. I am optimistic that this spirit of collaboration will further strengthen and contribute to the well-being of Slovenian society.”

For Training and Emergency Use

Some of the new civil protection equipment will remain at Slovenian Civil Protection sites and be used for training purposes. Most of the equipment will be stationed in areas at high risk of flooding, where it will be continuously utilized in collaboration with local municipalities.

Strong Connections to Slovenia

PALFINGER has been active in Slovenia since 1993 and employs around 900 people at its Maribor site. With an investment of approximately 70 million euro, the company will be expanding its production capacities in Ormož and establish a training center for skilled workers as well as a logistics hub. This investment strengthens PALFINGER’s European production network.
