PALFINGER: Tail and Passenger Lifts Product Line Operates in New Set-up and Under New Management

To fully leverage the potential of its Tail and Passenger Lifts product line, the world’s leading provider of innovative crane and lifting solutions PALFINGER will operate it in a new organizational set-up and under new leadership.

As part of its Vision & Strategy 2030, the international technology and engineering company PALFINGER continues to prepare for the future and evolve strategies, structures, and processes of all its product lines. This also applies to the product line Tail and Passenger Lifts. To provide the flexibility required to respond to the needs of this very specific market, PALFINGER decided a few weeks ago to implement a new organizational set-up which is not fully integrated in its GPO (Global PALFINGER Organization). PALFINGER continues to hold 100 percent of the shares and will continue providing its knowledge, expertise, and innovative technologies. All contracts and agreements remain in place and the existing networks, services, and locations are retained. With this strategic step, PALFINGER ensures the long-term success of Tail and Passenger Lifts and creates the best conditions for optimally leveraging the potential of the product line.

New management team with track record in the industry

The new organization will be managed under the dual global leadership of Hakan Peterson, based in North America, and a soon to be announced second manager, based in Europe. With the appointment of Peterson, a manager who is well familiar with PALFINGER has been won for the product line Tail and Passenger Lifts. Under his leadership from 1993 to 2020, MBB-Interlift, acquired by PALFINGER in 2007, developed into the third largest liftgate manufacturer on the North American market. For the past three years, he has been part of the Maxon lift Corp. leadership team.

Tail and Passenger Lifts will continue to operate in the EMEA region out of its Ganderkesee (GER) location. In North America the product line will operate out of Cerritos, CA and Council Bluffs, IA. Close and ongoing cooperation between the two regions is one of the key elements for success.
