Sustainable, Modern, Focused on the Future: PALFINGER Opens New Company Building in Lengau
The completion of the new company building in the Braunau district of Upper Austria sees the international technology and mechanical engineering company PALFINGER reach an important milestone in the development of its largest production site. This expansion provides an improved working environment for around 1,150 employees.
Following the expansion of the PALFINGER Campus and PALFINGER World three years ago, the opening of the new company building marks the next phase of expansion in Lengau. “With this expansion, we are promoting sustainable location development that balances ecological and operational requirements. We are shortening communication paths, enabling hybrid work and creating a modern work environment that encourages people to work together and achieve even better results,” says Andreas Klauser, CEO of PALFINGER.
The focus is on employees
The new offices at the Lengau site provide PALFINGER employees with additional space in a flexible working environment. The new company restaurant offers freshly prepared food for around 1,150 employees every day, featuring seasonal produce from the region. As part of the company’s PALfit program, there are also measures to support employees’ physical and mental health. The redesigned gym is equipped with modern equipment and has spacious washing and changing areas that offer an additional level of wellbeing.
With a view to efficiency and sustainability, the infrastructure at the site has also been optimized with new bus stops at the entrance to the plant and pedestrian and bike routes that improve plant logistics and traffic flow. Sustainable building concepts such as optimized ground compaction and green outdoor spaces make efficient use of the plant premises and also promote the environmental friendliness of the site.
Embedded in a strong European network
With the PALFINGER Campus apprenticeship training and further education center, PALFINGER World and the manufacturing, painting technology and assembly divisions, the Lengau site combines important competencies at one location. “As the company’s largest production site, Lengau plays a central role in our European manufacturing network. In conjunction with production sites in Southeast Europe and the Technology Center in Köstendorf, Lengau ensures that we offer our customers the most innovative crane and lifting solutions,” says Alexander Susanek, COO at PALFINGER.
